A very happy year

Here we are in October, the sporting season 2007-2008 is finished and with the championships which traditionally enclose the season now almost all behind us, it is thus time to draw the assessment from the last sporting year. The History that made model aircraft making began with Free flight, followed by Control Line Flight and then Radiocontrolled Flight, has grown as we know. It is therefore in this order, which is also that of the International Aeronautical Federation (FAI) that is to say F1, F2 and F3 which we will comment on the results of the members of the CMR.

Pierre Chaussebourg, as usual, made his harvest of excellent places: with the championship of France which was held close to Moncontour, he was placed 3rd in category F1H (A1 Glider). A few weeks later, he obtained 5th place at the Championship of Europe for gliders with magnetic guidance F1E in Germany where the French team took part in the Championship of Europe. We hope for him, a good result at the Championship of France in this same category which will take place in the north of Deux Sevres, at Tourtenay, the 25 and 26 October.

Roland Surugue who has moved house has joined the CMR. With him comes a collection of podium wins F2C which the CMR garners. These results are to be shared with Thierry Ougen, his pilot, member of the Club Modéliste de Cachan. - Winner of the World cup 2008 with great victories at Lugo in Italy, Salzburg in Austria, Landres in France and Pepinster in Belgium. - Vice-champion of the world 2008, the championship which took place in France (42 teams of 20 countries) - 3rd place in the Championship of France.

Also in Contol Line, let us note the excellent performance of Yoann Charon who finished 7th in the Championship of France for acrobatics F2B, with many points from the Fly-off.

In Radio Control, the performance is less but the hope is there; three of our colleagues represented us at the championship of France for Glider hand launched (F3K) in Rochefort on Mer. With the reading of the prize list, I noticed a beautiful “launch” of Thierry Marché.

Congratulations to all, while waiting for the General meeting of the club, which will be held on the 30th November, during which we all will be able to congratulate them.

Good flights to all.
